Need for Speed
2011 Need for Speed TeamFrom left Kailee Betler and Kira, Kiki Murphy and Josie, Emily Foley and Chewey, Ashley Ott and Will, Tom Avery (Coach), April Ott and Joe Need for Speed is a show team that loves Gymkhana. Gymkhana is western games like pole pending, barrel racing, etc. Any horse and rider can participate - speed is not as important as a good partnership between horse and rider.
Tontine was our first horse, and he learned to love Gymkhana when our son Dylan was only 8. When Dylan "outgrew" Tontine he taught many other kids to love this horse discipline. Here he is pictured several years ago with Alison and April Ott.
Will is our most experienced Gymkhana horse. He has been winning state championships for thirteen years. Here he's pictured at an early competition with Dylan Avery.
Shown above is the 2010 Need for Speed Team with their coach, Tom Avery at the year-end awards celebration. From left: Ivy Machmueller, Ashley Ott, KeeKee Murphy, Emily Foley and Kaylee Betler.
Some members of the team participate in 4-H. This is a photo from 2009 State Gymkhana. From left KeeKee and Josey, Emily and Cocoa, and Ashley and Will.
Will has been invited to Champion's Challenge at the Wisconsin State Fair. Here he is pictured with the Ott family and the Averys. Need for Speed meets weekly for practice during the show season. Horses can be brought to the Stable, and of course boarders are welcome to participate! Contact us for more information!
